Roots with Purpose was founded on the belief that meaningful change begins by meeting people where they are.

Since 2021, we have worked to support neighbors experiencing hardship throughout Wake County and surrounding communities. What began with a desire to serve our unsheltered neighbors has continued to grow into something much bigger—a community of volunteers, businesses, organizations, and supporters working together to make sure people have access to food, resources, connection, and compassionate support.

We believe helping someone is about more than meeting an immediate need. It is about seeing the person, preserving their dignity, building relationships, and creating connections that can make tomorrow a little easier than today.

Our Mission

Roots with Purpose exists to meet our neighbors where they are with compassion, dignity, and meaningful support.

Through food access, community outreach, resource connections, and collaborative programs, we work alongside individuals and families experiencing hardship to help meet immediate needs while building relationships that remind every person they are seen, valued, and worthy of support.

By bringing together neighbors, volunteers, businesses, and community partners, Roots with Purpose strives to create lasting pathways from immediate assistance to greater stability—one relationship, one resource, and one act of compassion at a time.

Dignity

Every person deserves to be treated with respect, compassion, and humanity—regardless of their circumstances.

Connection

Sometimes the most important thing we can offer is not an item, but a relationship. We believe strong communities are built when people know they are not alone.

Meeting People Where They Are

Support should be accessible. Whenever possible, we bring resources directly into the communities where they are needed rather than expecting our neighbors to find their way to us.

We know we cannot do this work alone. Volunteers, local businesses, community organizations, donors, and neighbors all play a role in creating meaningful and lasting impact.
